WW1 2nd Bn Essex Regiment 1914 Star Group of Three

Awarded to 8948 Sergeant Frank Mann Essex Regiment. Comprising: 1914 Star, with clasp “PTE 2/ESSEX R”, British War Medal, Victory Medal “SJT ESSEX R”.  Original silk ribbons remain as originally proudly worn.

Sergeant Frank Mann enlisted into the 2nd Bn Essex Regiment in 1907 and landed in France on the 22nd August 1914. He was admitted into hospital with exhaustion in 1915 and appears to have remained on the Western Front throughout the war. He was wounded on the 8th October 1915 and later awarded the silver war badge.
