WW2 Period Home Front London Passenger Transport Board Senior Fire Guard Steel Helmet
This is a scarce early WW2 example, believed worn by Mr D.C. Davidson of the London Passenger Transport Board. These details can be seen written to the underside of the shell. The shell was originally painted green and is dated 1939 and the liner with round crown cushion is dated 1938. Retaining most of the white painted finish and complete with chinstrap. Little dusty GC. The initials L.P.T.B. can be clearly seen to the underside along with initials S.W.J.R. The London Passenger Transport Board (LPTB) was the organisation responsible for local public transport in London, from 1933 to 1948
