WW1 Attributed 4th Bn Welsh Regiment Officer's Dayfield Body Armour

A rare and very good attributed set of private purchase Dayfield body armour worn by Lieutenant Henry Edwin Daniel. The amour remains in very good condition with light khaki cotton covering, and to the interior panels large printed owners name. Also retaining the original markers paper label. Complete with straps and buckles. VGC.

Lieutenant Henry Edwin Daniel was a solicitor by trade from Stockport and was granted a Commission into the 22nd (Wessex & Welsh) Territorial Battalion of the Rifle Brigade. The Battalion embarked for Egypt in January 1916 and following the heavy losses of the 4th Bn Welsh Regiment at Gallipoli, Lt Daniel found himself seconded to this Battalion. He remained with the Battalion before contracting Malaria, resulting in the loss of an eye and discharge.
