WW1 Army Service Corps 1915 Other Rank's Wolseley Pattern Foreign Service Helmet

A good and rare early Great War example, worn by Private Francis George Clifton who landed in Egypt in August 1915. The issue pattern "Sun" Helmet retains original thick pagri, to the left side a triangle Blue/White/Cream. The interior with leather sweatband and to the lining cloth pink paper label of J Compton & Sons Ltd 1915. Also with ink name "F.G. CLIFTON 113433". Chinstrap and hooks absent. Otherwise good untouched condition. No damage to the cork.

Private Francis George Clifton volunteered into the Army Service Corps 28th June 1915, within months he was embarking to Egypt landing on the 28th August 1915. He was then sent home and discharged with the award of the Silver War Badge on the 28th April 1916.
