An interesting medal awarded to James Comerford which was an alias for his real name James Mason. He enlisted under the name Comerford with the 2nd Bn Royal Irish regiment and landed in France on the 31st August 1914, he was Killed in Action on the 19th October 1914, this appears to be when his true name came out. He came from Kilkenny.
