Awarded to “L-4795 PTE H.G. LAMBERT 9-LRS” Comprising: 1914 Star, with clasp “9LRS”, British War Medal, Victory Medal, “9 LRS”, Imperial Service Medal  “HENRY GEORGE LAMBERT”. The group remains mounted as worn, Old Soldier style.

Private Henry George Lambert landed in France with the 9th Lancers on the 9th September 1914. The times reported him wounded and admitted into the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital on the 18th October 1914. During the retreat from Mons 1914 the 9th were engaged in a number of engagements with the enemy, including cavalry charges. He later served with the Corps of Lancers. The Imperial Service Medal was awarded on the 17th August 1945 for his serves as a postman at Windsor.
