WW2 British Attributed Battle Damaged “Tommy Helmet”. North West Europe

A rare original battle damaged example attributed to Corporal R.S. Mepham of the 8th Bn Middlesex Regiment. The helmet retains original lining which is dated 1940. To the right side a hole probably made by shrapnel which has shattered to chinstrap clip. I have left the helmet in as found Shed find condition.

From the estate of Corporal R.S. Mepham, he was reported wounded with the 8th Bn Middlesex Regiment in Northwest Europe on the 28th July 1944. See his WW2 Cheshire Regiment Battledress Blouse also listed.
