WW1 King’s Liverpool Regiment Officer’s MID Pair of Medals.

WW1 King’s Liverpool Regiment Officer’s MID Pair of Medals.

Awarded to “CAPT W GOULDEN”

Comprising:

British War Medal, Victory Medal, MID Oak Leaf. Mounted as originally worn.

Contained in a leather and velvet case.

Captain W Goulden was first commissioned on the 3rd November 1914 into the 1st Garrison Battalion of the King’s Liverpool Regiment. In January 1916 he was promoted to Acting Captain. His Mention in Despatches is confirmed appearing in the London Gazette on the 28th January 1919, for services between 1st March and 1st October 1918. I was led to believe he remained with the Regiment in the post war years, the listed King’s Regiment Wolseley Pattern Foreign Service Helmet was acquired with the medals, however this has the name Captain Golding, possible spelling error from a store man.
