Boer War Army Ordnance Corps Long Service Pair of Medals.

This pair were awarded to “3083 S. Sjt A.E. Hatwell  AOC”.  Comprising: Queen’s South Africa Medal, clasps “Cape Colony”, “Cpl AOC”, (Engraved early style naming with ghost dates), Army Long Service & Good Conduct Medal, (EVIIR), “S.Sjt AOC” GC.

Confirmed as a single clasp entitlement to the QSA Returned to the UK in August 1900.

Staff Sergeant Albert Edward Hatwell enlisted in November 1892. After returning from South Africa in 1904 he was serving in Hong Kong. Awarded the Long Service Medal in 1911 he was discharged at the end of his second period of service in 1913.
