WW2 Home Guard / Home Front Camouflage Steel Helmet
A scarce example of a British steel helmet with a rather crude period painted camouflage finish, typical of the style used by the Home Guard. The shell was originally painted black and under the camouflage paint work can be seen the faint outline of a “R” indicating formally used by a Rescue team member. Retaining original lining and chinstrap. The former with the date 1943 size 7 1/4.
