Victorian Boer War Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Glengary.
An extremely rare late Victorian example with the issue date 1893. The glengarry hat is of regimental pattern complete with cap badge leather trim (Correct for the period) and silk tails. The interior cotton lining with WD issue stamp 1893. Looking at the split pin and badge, I am happy it has always fitted to the hat. One or two small moth nips, some storage wear, other wise. GC and sleepy.
This is the earliest example of the type I have seen and very rare.
