WW1 South Staffordshire Regiment Officer’s Cap.
A good early Great War style stiff Officer’s cap tailored by Hawkes & Co of London. Complete with Officer’s bronze OSD cap badge and buttons, the latter securing a correct thin brown leather chinstrap. The interior with leather sweatband (Did Approx 21 1/2 inches) and tailors label. The lack of a number to the London postcode would indicate pre 1917. The cap remains in good clean condition and a good shape, but please see the photographs for some surface moth.
