WW1 20th DCO Infantry (Brownlow's Punjabis) Cuff Rank Tunic.

An extremely rare Great War Officer’s tunic worn by a Lieutenant of the 20th Duke of Cambridge's Own Infantry (Brownlow's Punjabis), Indian Army who would have fought in Mesopotamia and Palestine against the Ottoman Empire.
The tunic is tailored in lightweight material, to each cuff rank lace and stars representing a Lieutenant. The left breast with medal ribbons of the 1914/15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal. Complete with original silvered regimental buttons and instead of collar badges been worn to each shoulder strap can be found a silvered “20” device. The lining with the tailors label for Bangalore India. Unfortunately there is no name to the tunic.
The overall condition is very good with a small amount of age wear. This is the only Great War Indian Army Cuff rank tunic I have seen.

The 20th DCO Infantry embarked form Bombay for the Persian Gulf as part of the 16th (Poona) Brigade. The Regiment would see action throughout the war in the Mesopotamia and Palestine campaign including the Battle of Shaiba.
