Sergeant Francis Edward Blythe a native of Derby served with the 12th (Pioneer) Bn of the Notts & Derby regiment which was raised in Nottingham in 1914. He is confirmed as landing in France after the 1st January 1916 and was listed as wounded on the 16th May 1918. His name appeared in the London Gazette in 1919 for the award of the MSM and the Long Service Medal was awarded in 1921.
