WW2 RAF B Type Flying Helmet Rare Conversion Example.

A very good original worn B Type Flying Helmet, this being a rare example of the conversion pattern so can be used with the E, F and G type oxygen mask. To the front has been tailored two sets of three brass press studs to accommodate the later masks,  The interior with leather lining with crowned AM ink stamp and note this helmet has not been worn with inner ear donuts. The rear flap has been stitched in place by the original wearer who has inked his name to the inside “Bishop”.  Complete with earphone holders and with working zips. Leather remains a good original colour and supple. It is interesting to note that this is the first example I have come across where the female studs to take the D type canvas mask have been completely removed.
