WW2 RAF 1st Pattern D Type Canvass Flying Helmet.
A very scarce example of the 1st pattern tailored with external wiring loom and leather chinstrap and with stud provision to take the D type canvas oxygen mask. Retaining four goggle straps and also strap and bucket. The interior with silk lining but please note the ear donuts have been removed. This example with a scarce clear crowned AM issue stamp and also with size 1 stamp. Heavy service wear to the lining a brow band, buckle damaged but remains a good display item of this rare helmet, the removable of the ear donuts allows to display of a standard display head.
