Boer War 1st Bn Oxfordshire Light Infantry POW Carved Pipe.

A good and scarce example of a Boer POW carved pipe. Carved with the name F Gardner 1st Bn Oxfordshire Light Infantry Battle Honours and the dates 1899 to 1902. Has been smoked GC.

Attributed to 3300 Private F Gardner of the 1st Bn who was awarded the QSA with clasps Paardeberg, Relief of Kimberley, Transvaal and KSA 2 clasps. He is also noted as being wounded at Paardeberg on the  19th February 1900, on this Roll is initial is incorrect but Regimental number, surname and regiment is correct.
