WW1 Royal Scots Fusiliers Officer’s 1902 Cuff Rank Doublet Tunic Uniform

A very rare example of the 1st pattern Officer’s 1902 servicedress uniform cuff rank doublet. This example was worn by a Captain of a Territorial Battalion of the Royal Scots Fusiliers.

Tailored in typical thick wool material, with stand and full collar, cord shoulder straps and box pleat to the back. Complete with bronze collar badges an “T ’s”. Also complete with regimental buttons.

The doublet displays well as can be seen by the photographs, but does have some overall moth holes and peppering. Remains in clean condition.

This pattern of tunic was later adapted to the more familiar V collar and and flat shoulder straps making this a rare surviver and more so being the Highland Regiment doublet pattern. This pattern was worn in France mostly by Territorial officer’s in opening stages of the war, one of the most famous being Bruce Bairnsfather creator of “Old Bill”
