WW1 Royal Navy Officer’s Silver ID Bracelet. U Boat Killer.
This silver bracelet tag is engraved “LIEUT C.B. BLAKE RNVR 28.8.39 COF E”. Silver hallmark for Birmingham 1939.
Attributed to Lieutenant Commander Charles Benjamin Blake, who on the 22nd February 1945 commanded the Minesweeper HMS Pincher, along with HMS Recruit sank the German U-boat U-300 with gunfire. The sub had previously being damaged by dept charges. Lt Cdr Blake was Mentioned in Despatched on two occasions
