WW1 RFC Attributed Tunic Buttons Air Vice Marshal T.E. Drowley CBE.
Two RFC tunic buttons, one large and one small, contained in a leather case with an old ink label. These are attributed to Air Vice Marshal Thomas Edward Drowley CBE.
Air Vice Marshal Thomas Edward Drowley CBE. enlisted into the ranks of the RFC from a transfer from the 2/13th London Regiment. Serving in France as a mechanic he was granted a commission into the RFC in June 1916. By the end of the war, he held the rank of Lieutenant Equipment Officer. He would remain in the RAF and retired around 1947 having held the post of Director General of Equipment.
