A rare original matching set worn by Captain William Oliphant McKane MB Royal Army Medical Corps
Comprising: Jacket
Cuff rank jacket, this with Captain rank Stars and lace to the cuffs, the right cuff with the addition of two blue overseas service chevrons. Complete with regimental RAMC buttons and collar badges. The cotton lining retaining tailor’s label of Cooling Lawrence & Sons and ink name “Cap Dr. W.O. McKane 1917”. The jacket remains in very good clean condition. No moth damage.
Accompanied by original straight leg uniform trousers with turn ups. These with pencil name and a date 1918. Again very good clean condition.

Captain Dr. William Oliphant McKane MB was commissioned 10th April 1917 and served with the Egyptian Expeditionary Force landing in Egypt on the 8th June 1917. He survived the war and died in 1951 at the age of 68. He lived in Cleethorpes
