WW1 Original Imperial German Soldiers Wallet & Contents.
This to me is a remarkable discovery, carried in the trenches by Paul Rolf of the 66th Regiment. Comprising: Red material wallet, Pay Book, 66th Regiment solder strap, photographs, postcards, one addressed to Paul Rolf whist serving with the 66th Regiment September 1916, booklet etc. Sleepy untouched brought back condition. Also within the contents is a menu possibly for a Christmas dinner held by the West Yorkshire Regiment.
Paul Rolf enlisted in May 1915 originally into the 36th Regiment, then the 66th. I think this wallet was possibly taken off Paul Rolf during a trench raid for intelligence or possibly when take a POW. The 66th (3rd Magdeburg) Infantry served through out WW1 on the Western Front
