WW1 Irish Staff Officer Service Dress Cap.
A very good scarce example tailored by Woodrow of Belfast. Khaki cloth material with scarlet cap band edge in dark blue piping with bullion Royal Crest. Patent leather peak cap with single row of bullion indicating a Field Officer. The interior with cotton lining and gold embossed leather sweatband. Moth free small amount of age wear. Retains a good shape.
The tailors label of Woodrow gives the main branch as 18 Donegall Place Belfast with other branches in various cities. It is hard to find this pattern of cap tailored in Khaki cloth, the majority are the Staff pattern of dark blue cloth worn with a khaki cap cover
