Staff Sergeant Robert Edgar Lord enlisted into the AOC in 1909. In 1913 he was posted to South Africa and then St.Helena in September 1914. He returned to the UK in March 1915 and after a short period was posted to France on the 23rd April 1915 and remained France until February 1919. He was posted to India on the 28th January 1921 returning to the Un in April 1925 and was discharged in December 1931. The Delaval Masonic Lodge is in Newcastle Upon Tyne and was founded in 1895. The lodge is still open today.
