This example is stamped with the low number “1639”. Complete with original pin fitting and unusual scarlet cloth backing.
Awarded to 6227 Sergeant Samuel Chapman a pre war regular who joined the DCLI on the 7th February 1900 and was discharged after service overseas on the 24th November 1915. The badge was awarded in September 1916.
