WW1 Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry DCLI Badged Brodie Helmet.
Although in near relic condition this to me is a been there and bought the owner home save example. I have no doubt the badge has always been there and should not be confused with “souped up” examples which can be found on the market.
The shell retains traces of the original painted finish. The interior with a fragment of the leather straps, which would indicate an Officer’s private purchase possibly by Hawkes of London.
The helmet remains in shed found condition with pitting.
