Worn by Volunteer Una Florence Gelston during her time serving in France 1917 to 1919.
This silver (HM Birmingham 1917) ID bracelet is engraved “U GELSTON 14363 BRCS MAC”. GC.

Miss Una Florence Gelston of Ixworth House Bury St.Edwards volunteered her services to the Suffolk Voluntary Aid Detachment in January 1915 with the rank of Member, serving at the local hospital in general nursing, leaving in January 1916. In October 1917 she once again volunteered this time putting her name down for service in France, now with the rank of Chauffeuse. She was posted to the Etaples Convoy and later the Boulogne Convoy. She remain in France until April 1919.
This may indicate that the initials to the silver ID “M.A.C” may refer to “"Motor Ambulance Column"
