WW1 9th Royal Artillery Unit Marked Brodie “Been There” Steel Helmet.
I can not doubt this is a British Brodie helmet that has “been there and seen it”. Now in original shed find condition. The shell retaining part of the thick painted original field finish with unit mark of a red and blue square with the number 9. The interior retains the felt cushion covering the rubber ring. Complete with original leather chinstrap, this detached at one end.
Relic as found condition.
I have no history of the helmet I know some dealers would tell you it was discovered in a French Barn in the 1970’s, maybe it was !, but I do not know, but this would be a great addition to any collection.
