WW1 5th Bn Scottish Rifles Cameronians Officer’s Medals.

Awarded to Second Lieutenant John Mackie, who was commissioned from the ranks in 1917. Comprising: 1914/15 Star, “7824 PTE J MACKIE SCO RIF”, British War Medal, Victory Medal. “2 LIEUT’. Medals loose with original silk ribbons.

Second Lieutenant John Mackie landed in France and was posted to the 5th Bn on the 10th March 1915. In 1917 he was selected for a commission which was Gazetted on the 29th May 1917. He applied for his medals in 1924.
