WW1 4th Bn King's Shropshire Light Infantry Other Rank's 1902 Tunic.

A rare sleepy example worn by a Private of the 4th BN KSLI who had served three years overseas. The tunic is the regulation pattern with two pleats to the retailed stand collar. To each shoulder strap and brass strung bugle and Shropshire Title. To each shoulder the Battalion distinction of the "Croix de Guerre avec Palme". The right cuff with three blue overseas service chevrons. The interior with traces of the paper issue label and WD over "M" stamp. One of two moth nips, dusty condition. All brass badges and buttons a matching tobacco brown colour. One lower pocket button replaced.

The 4th Bn received a unit award of the Croix de Guerre avec Palme for its bravery during the attack on the attack on Bligny Hill on the 6th June 1918. The action witnessed by the French General, Berthelot
