Private William Brown Wood a native of Stockport enlisted on the 1st September 1914 into the 10th Bn Cheshire Regiment and transferred to the 2nd Bn on the 9th April 1915. He landed in France on the 4th May 1915 and was Killed in Action during the 2nd Battle of Ypres on the 24th May 1915.
