WW1 1918 RFC / RAF Cowl Pattern Flying Helmet
A very good and rare example of the issue pattern helmet. Tailored in light brown chrome leather balaclava form with multi panels. Side ear flaps with front rolls. Forehead tightening straps and buckles. Leather and cord tightening chin strap present. The interior with chamois crown and lower section. Bearing ‘WD’ issue stamp. Retaining virtually all of the central fur section, some stitching faults between fur and lining. The leather remains very supple and a good colour. Better than above average condition for this type of helmet.
