A scarce example of the alloy ashtray made from the piston of an original Rolls Royce 'Merlin' engine as used in the Battle of Britain by both Spitfire and Hurricane fighters.  Approximately 13.5cm diameter and 2cm deep.  Engraved with part of Sir Winston Churchill's speech and signature “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few”.   To the centre the RAF crest. Made for fund raising. Slight wear.
