A rare image showing the younger brother of the famous Sir Geoffrey de Havilland. He is seen at the controls of a aircraft. The image is clear in original card mount. Name to reverse. Overall size 7 x 6 inches.

Hereward de Havilland qualified for the Royal Aero Club Certificate 588 on the 13th August 1913. He served during the Great War earning the DSO & Bar. The interwar years saw him taking part in various Air Races and also joined the family firm of De Havilland.
