WW1 “South Lancs” Battle of the Somme 1916 Period A Pattern Brodie Helmet.
A very good and rare early issue of the Brodie Helmet. The shell retains original South Lancashire Regiment badge attached to the front of the helmet, the helmet has never had a rim fitted feature of the A Pattern helmet and to the interior the original oil cloth lining and with the personal field adaption by the original owner of a padded sandbag. The interior shows the original apple green colour to the shell. Only part of the leather chinstrap remains.
This represents an iconic Battle of the Somme Helmet.
