Early WW2 Very Rare  Women's Royal Naval Service WRNS Rating Cap.

This is a very rare and good example of the Great War style cap adopted by the WRNS when reformed in 1939.
Blue cotton cloth material tailored with loops to accommodate the cap tally, this example fitted with a WW2 economy printed example for the Shore Base HMS Pembroke. The interior with cotton lining, ink name “M Beaumont and tailors label for Thorneloe & Clarkson. Retaining tape chinstrap and an unusual feature of a false ponytail.

Near VGC.

This is the first example of this pattern I have handled indicating the scarcity Adopted in 1939 on the reforming of the WRNS and continued to be worn until about 1941/45 when the more common sailor type cap was introduced.
