Victorian School of Musketry / 8th (The King’s) Regiment Army Long Service & Good Conduct Medal

A good and scarce example awarded to “1348 Sergt Instr Musky J.G. McKinnon 2nd Bn 8th Foot”. GC.

Sergeant Instructor McKinnon enlisted in 1858 at Cork, in 1861 he is noted attached to the 2nd Bn 8th Regiment at Gibraltar. He was awarded the Long Service Medal in 1872.
He does not appear to have been issued campaign medals with this service number. Possibly only entitlement.
